Art 6 Photography Blog Post

October 28th and 29th
During today's class you should:
  1. Edit photos from school and photos you took on holiday
  2. Start on blog post titled : "Art 6 Photography Unit"-(See instructions on rubric Sheet, the rubric sheet is taped in your workbook)

    From Rubric: Create a blog post to showcase one photo you submitted for any category.  Provide comments to explain the process (How and why) you went through to come up with this photo. Add photo above or below your comments.

    3. Answer reflection questions in Blog post. Here are the Questions:
    1.  Did one of your photographs show more than one of the 5 categories outlined in this assignment?  If so which one and how?

    2. If you could do this assignment again what would you do differently? 
    3. Which photo was your best?  Explain Why?

    Handing in your photographs to the Art Drop Folder. You must hand in one photo for each of the five categories, however you can hand in as many as 10 Photos in total ( 2 for each category) if you like. Before you hand in your photos you should rename all your photographs.  Right now the file name for your photos is something like; IMG_1234.jpg  You need to rename them in the following way.  If your name was Charlie Brown your photos should be named like this:
Charlie_B_TX1.jpg         For your “Texture” Photo use “TX”
Charlie_B_SH1.jpg         For your “Shadows” Photo use “SH”
Charlie_B_AA1.jpg         For your “Atypical Angle” Photo use “AA”
Charlie_B_RF1.jpg         For your “Reflection” Photo use “RF”
Charlie_B_RO3_1.jpg         For your “Rule of Thirds” Photo use “RO3”
If you are handing more than one photo for each category name your second photograph for each category like this: Charlie_B_TX2.jpg

Art 7 Keva Plank Blog Post Instructions
Create a Blog Post for the work you have done with the Keva Planks.

  1. Formative work:  Provide evidence (photos and titles) for at least one of the three Formative assessments in your blog post: 1. Architecture 2. Repetitious Sculpture 3. Sculpture incorporating concept of Cantilever.

  1. Summative Works– post photos of Summative work:  Static Form and  Dynamic Form.   (Construct two original Structures one displaying your understanding of Static forms the other Dynamic Forms.)  Provide a title for each Form and an explanation and comments on the creative process you used for one of the summative Sculptures.  Explain sources of inspiration, challenges, and a critique of how well you did.


Answer reflection questions:
  1. What was your favourite part of this unit?  Provide photo with your answer.
  2. How can KEVA planks enhance creativity?
  3. In your own words explain how Cantilever works.

ART 7 Instructions for today's activity FRIDAY October 9th 2015

Today’s activity is to create a Flat 2D-Design using the KEVA Planks.  The learning target is a creation standard: Repetition – You understand how to create a 2D artwork with KEVA planks that demonstrates your understanding of the design Principle Repetition.

You can work collaboratively or on your own.  Here are some examples:

Allow 10 minutes at end of period to photograph your work, upload pictures, and pack up black paper and KEVA Planks.

Today in art class if is Haze is under 150 you will go outside and paint.  If Haze is over 150 stay in class and work on Value Scale sheet.

How to edit a Photo

How to edit a Photograph


In class today we will watch an instructional video on how to edit a photo.  Watch the video and then try to make some edits to your photos.  Pick one photo to play around with first.  Playing around with a photo will give you an opportunity to see what this software program can do to photos and you don’t have to worry about making mistakes.  If you don’t like an edit you made just hit the “revert to original” button, or "control Z" to go back one step.  When you feel comfortable using the software then you can try making some real edits to a photo.  If you get stuck try asking 3 classmates for help before you ask the teacher.  Here is the link to the video:
