Art 6 LOGO Design

Art 6 Graphic Design - Create a Logo for our 6th grade CWW "iConnect" camp program using the presentation software Keynote on your Mac computer.


Graphic Design Resources for Logo Competition

Slides that Mr. Green and Ms. Dowd used during CWW week in the library.

Start here

  1. Open Keynote.
  2. Create a new document with a white background.
  3. Save it on your desktop with a meaningful name.
  4. Change the size to 3000 x 3000.
    1. Click Document on the right and choose custom size where it says slide size.
    2. Change to 3000 x 3000.

Font

dafont or use fonts already installed on your Mac
(Remember, you must quit Keynote completely and then open it again for your newly installed font to work.)

Color

COLOURlovers - Choose from already created color palettes.

How to use the color palette in Keynote
  1. Paste a screenshot of your color palette into Keynote
  2. Click View / Show Colors and then follow the instructions in this video

(Sometimes I have to close and open the color picker to get it to work!)

Shape

Some tools that are useful as you use shapes to create your logo:
  1. Get rid of the default drop shadow in the Format / Style menu on right.
  2. Select multiple shapes and group them in the Format / Arrange menu.
  3. Move shapes in front and behind in the Format / Arrange menu.

Need inspiration? Look at The Noun Project or flaticon. Don’t download anything...just look for ideas.
